England Thomas Tuchel, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: “Very new experience.
“Myles Lewis-Skelly debuts with me on the pitch, so I am not all alone. He did fantastic, nothing but impressive.”
On the game: “OK-ish. Difficult opponent. I knew before it can be hard to create chances.
“They [Albania] came here to play in front of 80,000-plus at Wembley. They did everything to make life hard. We struggled to implement a high-rhythm.
“Second half, I felt we lose confidence in our structure and everyone tries it on their own and it becomes slower.
“It is more difficult to have counter-pressing.”
On wide players: “We will encourage them. We played with wide wingers because we have fantastic players. They didn’t have the influence that we expected from them. We need to make sure they have better timing with the runs.”
On fans possibly not being entertained: “You want to see an open match.
“I can understand it’s not the most exciting watch, but we still needed to do what was needed to do.
“We took more risk in the second half, but it didn’t work out the way we wanted.”
