Which games are on TV in August? Schedule, channels, live streams

All but three games from the first round of Premier League fixtures of the 2025/26 season will be shown on live TV in the UK.

Reigning champions Liverpool kick off the action, while 2024/25 runners-up Arsenal resume their rivalry with Manchester United.

Championship winners and former top-flight champions Leeds United also feature on their return after two seasons in the second tier.

Here are the matches selected for live broadcast on the first weekend of the season, as well as details on channels, live streams and when the fixtures later in the month will be announced.

Premier League games on TV in August: Dates, start times

Here’s the full set of Premier League games on Matchday 1, including the games selected for live broadcast on the first weekend of the season.

All times are BST, with the three games at 15:00 on Saturday not chosen for live coverage. This list will be updated when more are announced.

Friday, August 15

Liverpool vs Bournemouth (20:00, Sky Sports Main Event, Premier League and Ultra)

Saturday, August 16

Aston Villa vs Newcastle (12:30, TNT Sports 1 and Ultimate)

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Fulham (15:00)

Sunderland vs West Ham (15:00)

Tottenham vs Burnley (15:00)

Wolves vs Manchester City (17:30, Sky Sports Main Event, Premier League and Ultra)

Sunday, August 17

Chelsea vs Crystal Palace (14:00, Sky Sports Main Event, Premier League and Ultra)

Nottingham Forest vs Brentford (14:00, Sky Sports, channel TBC)

Man United vs Arsenal (16:30, Sky Sports Main Event, Premier League and Ultra)

Monday, August 18

Leeds vs Everton (20:00, Sky Sports Main Event, Premier League and Ultra)

Premier League TV fixtures: When is the rest of August announced?

The games selected for broadcast from Matchday 2 to Matchday 6, covering the rest of August and part of September, are expected to be announced around July 9, the Premier League say.

Matchday 2 fixtures include Liverpool’s trip to fellow Champions League side Newcastle and a game between two of their fellow representatives among Europe’s elite this season when Manchester City host Tottenham.

When does the 2025/26 Premier League season start and end?

The last round of matches will all start at the same time on May 24 2026.

No rounds will take place within 60 hours of each other and there will be no fixture on December 24.

2025/26 Premier League TV deals

Sky Sports and TNT Sports will share the live broadcasting rights to show the Premier League in the UK between 2025/26 and 2028/29.

BBC Sport also has highlights rights, including Match of the Day, and audio rights, which it shares with talkSPORT.

How to watch the Premier League on TV in August: Sky Sports

Prices for Sky Sports and TNT Sports vary. Via Now TV, Sky Sports costs £14.99 for a day membership, £26 a month for a six-month membership or £34.99 a month with no contract.

Sky Sports memberships include access to all 12 live Sky Sports channels and Sky Sports+, which offers live streams and a dedicated channel.

According to BT, TNT Sports costs £20 a month when bought with a broadband package or £30.99 a month without a contract.

Those prices include discovery+ Premium, which offers access to thousands of exclusive shows and originals.

Premier League live streams: How to watch August fixtures online

Both broadcasters have dedicated apps allowing fans to live-stream the games: SkyGO for Sky Sports and discovery+ for TNT Sports.

Both apps are available on a vast range of devices, including smart TVs, gaming consoles, set-top boxes and mobile devices.
