2026 Formula 2 & Formula 3 Calendars Announced

Both of Formula 1’s feeder series, Formula 2 and Formula 3 have revealed their 2026 calendars. Here’s where and when each series will be racing in 2026.

On the same day that Formula 1 unveiled its 24-race 2026 calendar, the sport’s feeder series Formula 2 and Formula 3 have also revealed their 2026 calendars. The calendars remain largely unchanged from 2025 with one exception.

With Imola falling off the F1 schedule to make way for the all-new Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid, the venue also departs the F2 and F3 calendars, with Madrid taking its place in September. For Formula 3, the Madrid round will be the last round of the season. In December 2024, it was revealed that Madrid will host F2 and F3 races until at least 2035.

Like in the last two years, Formula 2 will feature on the support line-up at 14 rounds of the 2026 Formula 1 season, while Formula 3 will race at ten rounds. For the second year in a row, both series begin their seasons with races in Australia. Formula 2 and Formula 3 have been visiting the Albert Park in Melbourne circuit since 2023.

The Melbourne races and the Bahrain round – the second of the season – will be the only rounds outside of Europe for Formula 3 in 2026, while Formula 2 will additionally visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Baku City Circuit is the only other track which appears on the F2 calendar but not the F3 counterpart.

As has become tradition, the F2 season will finish on the same weekend as the season-closing Formula 1 race at Yas Marina Circuit. The F3 season will wrap up in mid-September at Madrid as part of the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix weekend. It is the first time since 2021 that the season will not end at Monza.

Although yet to be officially confirmed for 2026, Formula 2 and Formula 3 race weekends traditionally consist of a single qualifying session on Friday, a Sprint Race on Saturday and a longer Feature Race on Sunday.

2026 Formula 2 Calendar

Formula 2 will contest 28 races in 2026, with events taking place in 13 different countries. The tenth season of the modern F2 era begins on March 6-8 at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix. After a one-month break, a double-header of Middle Eastern races take place in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

After another six-week break, F2 joins the F1 calendar for the majority of the European season, kicking off with the Monaco and Catalunya double header on the first two weekends of June. After further races throughout the summer in Austria, Britain, Belgium, Hungary, Italy, Spain (for the first race at the new Madring circuit) and Azerbaijan, the season concludes after a two month break with a final double header of events in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

Speaking about the newly-unveiled schedule, Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel said:

“I’m very pleased to announce our calendar for the 2026 season. F2 is the ultimate preparation for Formula 1 as proven by the strong performance of the drivers who have joined the F1 grid in 2025. Racing on Formula 1 tracks and in front of the F1 paddock is absolutely key. Next season, we remain with 14 rounds in total, all support events of F1. As announced previously, we are adding a new venue with Madrid, which should be an exciting new track for our drivers and teams. As always, we have designed this calendar with the costs in mind to ensure that the teams’ budget remain at a healthy level.”

2026 Formula 3 Calendar

The 33-car Formula 3 field will compete in 20 races across the 10-round 2026 season. After a single round in March (Australia) and one in April (Bahrain), the season’s last eight rounds all take place in Europe between June and September.

Monaco returns to the Formula 3 calendar once more in 2026. The modern F3 championship only began racing in Monaco in 2023, 11 years after the series’ predecessor GP3 last raced there. Other classic tracks on next year’s schedule include Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps and Monza.
