Formula 1 returns to Imola for the 32nd race at the legendary Italian circuit. Imola re-joined the Formula 1 calendar amid the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Having previously hosted both the Italian and San Marino Grands Prix, the race at the historic circuit is now known the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix – or the Formula 1 Gran Premio Del Made In Italy E Dell’Emilia Romagna, to give its full official title.

40km to the east of Bologna, the Imola circuit – Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari – is located in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. The picturesque region was in the news in 2023, when local flooding caused by torrential rain led to the cancellation of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix being cancelled. Thankfully, the Imola race went ahead without interruption in 2024.

It’s looking increasingly likely that this year’s Imola race will be the final running of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. 2025 marks the final race on Autodromo Imola’s current F1 contract, and there’s no guarantee it will be extended. We recommend visiting this classic track while you still have the chance! Read on for everything you need to know ahead of visiting Imola for the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Heading to Imola for the first time? All the essential travel information you need ahead of travelling to Italy is in Travel Basics.

Tickets & F1 Experiences Packages On Sale

Tickets went on sale for the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in September 2024, much earlier than recent editions of the race. Tickets were sold in phases, with more tickets becoming available later in the year. Affordable Rivazza 1 grandstand tickets are recommended for excellent views and some of the best atmosphere on the calendar. Other recommended places to watch at Imola include Acque Minerale & Tosa. We also recommend Official Ticket Packages from F1 Experiences, including Champions Club (new for 2025) and Formula 1 Paddock Club hospitality. Where to Stay

There’s not many places to stay in Imola itself on race weekend, with most available rooms reserved for those working at the race. Whilst the nearby area does have some good hotels, the majority of fans choose to stay in the largest nearby city, Bologna, which offers direct train connections (30 minutes travel time) on race weekend.

Learn More: Where to Stay for the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix

Bologna is a fantastic city to explore in its own right, with a good supply of accommodation and plenty of restaurants and nightlife to keep you busy away from the track. In the opposite direction, Ravenna is a medium-sized city that makes a good base for race weekend and has one major benefit over Bologna – you won’t be competing with thousands of other fans to get the train to/from the circuit. The resort town of Rimini on the Adriatic coast is also a good base for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, but you’ll probably need to hire a car to make travel easier.

The best ways to get to Autodromo Imola on race weekend are to take the train or to drive. Regular train services connect cities such as Bologna, Ravenna and Rimini to the town of Imola. Parking near the track is now on sale for 2025.

On Track Action at the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix

Imola has served up some classic Formula 1 races in its history and has produced plenty of memorable moments since returning to the calendar. Max Verstappen has won the last three editions of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, but is likely to have a much more difficult task following up in 2025 due to recent changes in the competitive order.

Formula 1’s sprint format hasn’t been used at Imola since 2022, and will not be returning in 2025. Alongside the main event, Formula 2 and Formula 3 are already confirmed to race at Imola next year, and will be joined once again by the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, which will start its 2025 season at the Italian venue once again. Session times and further information about the trackside experience – including information on parking and access gates – can be found in Trackside.

Off Track at the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix
