With a weekend attendance of 203,000, the title-deciding 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was the best-attended race in Yas Marina Circuit’s history on the F1 calendar.
For the first time in its history, weekend attendance at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix exceeded 200,000. The title-deciding 2025 race had an overall attendance figure of 203,000 – an increase of 11,000 on the previous year.
Lando Norris secured his first World Championship victory as a result of the 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which was Formula 1’s first three-way title decider in 15 years. Max Verstappen won the race – his eighth victory of the season – but it was not enough to usurp the McLaren driver from the lead of the championship. Norris became Britain’s 11th World Champion and the first McLaren driver to take the crown since Lewis Hamilton in 2008.

Formula 1 reported that fans from 105 different countries attended the 2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Although unconfirmed, the attendance figure of 203,000 is believed to be a four-day figure, including fans who attended the Benson Boone concert as part of the race festivities on Thursday evening. Katy Perry, Metallica and Post Malone also performed over the race weekend.
To aid fans’ commute to and from the circuit, race organisers provided 82 public buses, 3,000 taxis and a fleet of 15 autonomous vehicles, with drones being used to monitor traffic flow throughout the event.
Record Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Attendance
When the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix first joined the calendar in 2009, weekend attendance totalled 150,000. Prior to 2025, the 2016 and 2017 races shared the record as the best-attended events at Yas Marina Circuit, each attracting 195,000 fans.
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has one of the more modest attendance figures of the Formula 1 season. Only races in Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan and Qatar are believed to have lower spectator numbers. The British Grand Prix ends 2025 as the best-attended race weekend, with the four-day event attracting a record 500,000 spectators.
Official figures show that 12 races this season had attendances upward of 300,000. That does not include the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas. The Texas event likely had more than 400,000 spectators over its race weekend but an official figure has not been confirmed.
According to official figures and our estimations for races which have not announced attendance numbers, overall Formula 1 race attendance in 2025 is likely to have totalled over 6.9 million – an increase from last year’s record-breaking 6.5 million attendees over 24 races.
