The 2025 BMW Championship, the second tournament of the 2025 FedEx Cup Playoffs, goes down this week at Caves Valley in Maryland, and Rory McIlroy is among the betting favorites. Here is everything you need to know about the BMW Championship odds and other betting favorites to start the week.
BMW Championship betting favorites
This week’s BMW Championship marks the return of World No. 2 Rory McIlroy. The reigning Masters champion last played at the Open Championship, where he finished T7. He skipped last week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship, the first round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Despite missing out on points at the St. Jude, McIlroy remains in second in the FedEx Cup standings heading into the BMW. He’s also second in the betting odds, coming in with +700 odds to win.
There is, of course, one man above him, the same player who towers above him in the Official World Golf Ranking: World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. After another top-five finish at the FedEx St. Jude, Scheffler is the betting favorite at +230.
Justin Rose birdies third playoff hole to defeat J.J. Spaun at FedEx St. Jude
On the third playoff hole at the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship, Justin Rose and J.J. Spaun each hit their approaches close at the par-4 18th hole. Rose drains his birdie putt while Spaun misses, giving Rose his 12th PGA Tour victory.
Tommy Fleetwood (+2000) is third in the pre-tournament odds. Although he still hasn’t won a PGA Tour event, Fleetwood had another near-miss last week, finishing a shot out of a playoff at TPC Southwind.
Two-time major champion Xander Schauffele has been showing signs of life lately after a rough start to the season. He’s tied with Fleetwood with +2000 odds.
Rounding out the top-five in BMW Championship betting odds is a trio of proven Tour winners: Justin Thomas, Ludvig Aberg and Patrick Cantlay. They’re knotted at +2200.
