Your Action Plan
What: Your goal is to successfully chip the ball onto the green when a right-side obstacle (like a tree) blocks your normal (for a right-hander) swing path.
Why: When an obstacle is tight to your trail side, trying to swing normally often results in hitting the obstacle, or an unstable, manipulated swing. Playing the shot left-handed opens up the swing space you need.
How:
Advance the Ball: This technique allows you to easily chip the ball out from under the tree and into a better position.
Flip the Club: Take a club (like a wedge) and turn it upside down in your hands.
Toe Down: Ensure the toe of the club is facing down toward the ground.
Left-Handed Stance: Take a stance as if you were a left-handed golfer facing your target.
Small Swing: Execute a small, controlled chip shot using a simple pendulum motion, hitting the ball with the toe-down clubface.
