Jake Paul has fashioned an unlikely career for himself in the sport of boxing. Though most didn’t expect his emergence, Paul has dedicated himself to the sport for over five years and has made millions doing so.
A key factor in the YouTuber’s success in the ring has been his ability to shut the lights out against some big names in the combat sports world. Having natural knockout power is considered a gift that not everybody is blessed with, but is Jake Paul as powerful as he’s made out to be?
Sharing the ring with ‘The Problem Child’ deep into the sixth round, Anthony Joshua gave his verdict on how the fight went.
“It could have been better, but we got there in the end,” Joshua said in the moments after finishing Jake Paul. “Could have been better, but we got there in the end.”
Many expected Anthony Joshua to steamroll Jake Paul on the way to a decisive victory.
While the win was one-sided, Paul gave a good account of himself. Excluding the constant attempts to grapple, the influencer managed to stay on his bike and avoided being hit with anything major, making it a somewhat impressive performance against an elite-calibre boxer.

As the rounds flew by, Jake Paul began to fatigue and eventually left openings. Anthony Joshua has made a career out of punishing those exact mistakes, and as he’s done many times before, he landed a huge shot to bring an end to the fight.
One talking point from the fight, besides the stoppage, was Jake Paul connecting with the same overhand right that has become somewhat of a signature punch for him over the years.
Opinions are divided on just how much power Paul truly possesses, but Anthony Joshua has put those discussions to bed.
“It was alright,” Joshua said.
