Dana White has confirmed that, despite the lengthy delay and uncertainty surrounding the blockbuster fight, Jon Jones has already agreed to fight Tom Aspinall.

There hasn’t been much movement in the past few months regarding the rumored clash between UFC heavyweight champion Jones and interim titleholder Aspinall. All signs pointed toward ‘Bones’ being the one stalling negotiations, though that may not be the entire truth.

According to Dana White, Jon Jones already agreed to defend his throne against the rightful number-one contender, Tom Aspinall. While an agreement was made, White likened dealing with Jones to dealing with a musician.

“It’s definitely the process with Jon Jones,” White said, referencing his stalled matchup against Aspinall. “[We’ve] been going through this since the day he started here. Yeah, it’s definitely the process.”

“Him and Anderson Silva, every time, you know, throughout the history of being in business with those guys, when it comes time to get them a fight, it’s like dealing with artists. It’s interesting.”

The lack of positive news surrounding the bout has left fans doubting it will ever come to fruition, but Dana White has dropped some huge news on the fight’s status

“Yeah, I mean, I’ve been saying it since the beginning. Jon Jones agreed to do the fight. So, Jon Jones was offered the deal and accepted the deal.”

“Jon agreed to fight Tom, yes. [But he hasn’t signed a contract].”

“I mean, you guys have heard me for the last however long. I said I guarantee you this fight’s going to happen, fight’s going to happen.”

“You guys told me the crazy sh*t that was going on on Instagram and all these other places. But yes, I’ve been saying [that] Jon is going to fight Tom.”

Dana White is urging fans to dismiss any negative news surrounding the Jones vs. Aspinall clash unless it comes from the UFC directly.

“Unless you hear it come from here or we put out a press release, don’t believe any of this bullsh*t.”
