Dana White reveals huge financial benefits for fighters with new Paramount TV deal

The UFC’s new broadcasting deal with Paramount is a monumental step forward for the company and the sport as a whole. However, it’s not just the promotion that will see change, as fighters will also reap the benefits of the $7.7 billion partnership, according to Dana White.

Despite being the pinnacle of mixed martial arts, the UFC is often criticized for its pay structure. Athletes and fans have blasted the organization, hoping for fairer pay for those competing inside the octagon, and their prayers may have finally been answered.

Paramount TV and CBS are set to be the home of the UFC starting in 2026. The dated pay-per-view model is, for the most part, no longer being used under the new TV deal, with viewers able to watch all events with a standard subscription to the streaming service.

While enhanced fighter exposure and other benefits can be expected from the deal, Dana White has revealed that his fighters will also gain financially.

“When you do a deal like this, it’s obviously [good for everyone involved],” White said. “We’re talking about how good it is for the fans, it’s obviously good for the company, but it’s incredible for the fighters.”

“We always had a model where you eat what you kill, type of thing, with the pay-per-views. Mathematically, you just figure that out. It’s going to be incredible.”

“Since 2001, the day we bought this company, fighter pay has gone up. Every new deal that we’ve done, fighter pay has gone up. And obviously fighter pay will go up for this deal.”

“Not just financially for the fighters, but the amount of exposure now that they’re going to get. More people can tune in for $12.99 than they could for $80 plus dollars.”

Listen to Dana White discuss the new TV deal and more during an appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast below.

The pros largely outweigh the cons with the new deal, and everybody from CEO Dana White to the consumer should feel a difference once UFC debuts on Paramount.

Despite finalizing their agreement, White knows the hard work starts now, believing the company must prove itself in front of the world, having seven years to do so.

Dana White spoke to the media earlier this week to help those unsure learn more about the new Paramount TV deal.
