For his next fight, “El Matador” vacated and moved up to lightweight. He then faced Charles Oliveira at UFC 317, where he knocked out the Brazilian cold in Round 1, to become the lightweight kingpin and also a two-division champion.

Ilia Topuria is confident Max Holloway will get his hand raised at UFC 326. On Adin Ross’ Kick stream, the 29-year-old said:
“I love Charles because of his personality. He’s such an amazing human being, but I think Max is taking it.”
However, Topuria also added that you can never underestimate the best submission artist in the UFC.
“But don’t count Charles out. He’s dangerous, and at any moment of the fight, he can submit you anytime.”

Holloway will be making the second defense of his BMF title next month at UFC 326. He has ‘issue with the lightweight champ’ and has repeatedly expressed a desire to run it back with “El Matador.” The 34-year-old is also eyeing two-division status and will seek a lightweight title shot if he beats “Do Bronxs.”
Topuria, on the other hand, is expected to meet interim champion Justin Gaethje in a title unification bout soon.
