The UFC octagon was in Abu Dhabi for Saturday’s UFC 321: Aspinall vs. Gane pay-per-view event. The fight card was headlined by two world title bouts.
The main event, the heavyweight title bout between champion Tom Aspinall and former interim titleholder Ciryl Gane, ended in a no contest after Aspinall was unable to continue after receiving an unintentional eye poke.
Mackenzie Dern captured the women’s strawweight championship in the co-main event defeating Virna Jandiroba by unanimous decision. Following the event, UFC CEO Dana White announced the winners of the performance-based bonuses.
Fight of the Night honors went to the lightweight bout between Ľudovít Klein and Mateusz Rębecki. The back-and-forth fight ended in a majority deciosn for Klein. Both men earned an extra $50,000.
Heavyweight Valter Walker banked a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus for his first-round heel hook submission win over Louie Sutherland on the preliminary card.
Quillan Salkilld earned a bonus for his first-round knockout of Nasrat Haqparast in the featured preliminary bout. Salkilld landed a head kick when Haqparast thought he was going low rendering the German unconscious.
UFC 321: Aspinal vs. Gane took place at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. 13,220 spectators attended the sold-out event. It was the 22nd time the fight promotion held an event in Abu Dhabi.
