There’s levels and Tatsuro Taira proved it at UFC Vegas 108. He dominated Hyun Sung Park, a short notice opponent, in only two rounds, ending the fight in a face crank. Taira rebounded from his first career loss to Brandon Royal back in October of last year and is now back on track.
Tatsuro Taira dominates
There wasn’t a moment in the fight where Japan’s Tatsuro Taira wasn’t in control. From the early goings of the fight, Taira took lead and dropped Hyun Sung Park. From there, it was a torrent of grappling that Park could not keep up with and it was only a matter of time. The Korean managed to survive the first round.
When the second round was mustered, Park tried to get some offense going, throwing big shots Taira’s way. But Taira torpedoed across the cage and quickly took Park down again. He wasted no time as he got to the back and cranked on the face of Park.
Taira called out Alexandre Pantoja or Joshua Van in his post fight interview. Though not booked, it’s widely accepted that Pantoja and Van are fighting next. Taira, who wants a title shot, will have to fight another fight.

The last three fights on UFC Vegas 108 delivered. With Tatsuro Taira putting a nice bow on everything, the under card also showed out. Chris Duncan and Mateusz Rebecki went to a bloody war and stole the hearts of the bloodthirstiest fans the UFC has. After three rounds of pure carnage, it was Duncan that secured the win.
Fans thought Esteban Ribovics and Elves Brener locked in Fight of the Night before Duncan and Rebecki said collectively, “Hold my beer.” Ribovics and Brener threw leather from start to finish and Ribovics emerged the victor to the chagrin of Brener.
Karol Rosa and Nora Cornolle had a ranked women’s bantamweight fight with Rosa dominating a decision win. Neil Magny snapped his two fight losing streak and knocked out Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos in round two. And Kevin Vallejos kicked off the main card with a unanimous decision win over Danny Silva.
Argentina’s finest went 2-0 on the night.
The undercard was capped off with Rinya Nakamura beating Nathan Fletcher with a massive body kick, though not novel for the card. Rodolfo Vieira beat Tresean Gore via unanimous decision, Andrey Pulyaev knocked out Nick Klein with a body kick, foreshadowing Nakamura. Austin Bashi subbed John Yannis with a rear naked choke in round one. And opening the card, Rafael Estevam beat Felipe Bunes and Piera Rodriguez beat Ketlen Souza, both by decision.
