Another year, another new NBA All-Star Game format. But could this one be different?
In its 75th edition, the league has pitted the United States against the rest of the world, young versus old, in an effort to draw out the competitive juices that the annual showcase has severely lacked in recent years.
The teams are as follows: Team USA Stars, the youngest cohort of American players; Team USA Stripes, the older contingent; and Team World, comprised of international players. See full rosters in the blog below.
The three squads will play a round-robin mini tournament consisting of four 12-minute games. Tipoff is Sunday at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT (on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+) in Inglewood, Calif.
Each team will play the other two teams once, and the top two squads will advance to the final. (If all three teams finish 1-1, it will go to a point differential tiebreaker.)
Here is the full schedule:
Game 1: USA Stars vs. WorldGame 2: USA Stripes vs. winning team of Game 1Game 3: USA Stripes vs. losing team of Game 1Game 4: All-Star Championship (top two teams from round-robin play)
