Garland is expected to be ready in time for training camp.
The 25-year-old made his second all-star team this season while averaging 20.6 points, 6.7 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game.
Cleveland led the Eastern Conference with a 64-18 record, but was eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in five games in Round 2.
Garland missed the first two games of that series, each of which Cleveland lost at home, with what the team said at the time was a sprained left big toe.
“Definitely wasn’t myself. It was pretty uncomfortable but trying to do everything to win the game. It was frustrating because I wasn’t 100 percent,” Garland said he played in Game 5.
He was also absent from the final two games of the Cavaliers’ first-round triumph over the Miami Heat.
