Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla and members of the team’s front office were in Türkiye to take in the Turkish League semifinal matchup between Fenerbahce and Bahcesehir. Of particular interest to the Celtics seems to be forward Nigel Hayes-Davis of Fenerbahce.
Hayes-Davis went for 10 points and seven rebounds as Fenerbahce completed a 3-0 sweep in the semifinals. This performance for Hayes-Davis came on the heels of being named the MVP of the 2025 EuroLeague Final Four.
Hayes-Davis is wrapping up his third season with Fenerbahce and his seventh consecutive season playing in Europe. Boston has had previous interest in bringing the 30-year-old forward back to the NBA. In previous years, the Celtics were unable to offer Hayes-Davis a big enough role. Next season, Boston’s roster looks to be in transition, which could open up rotation spots.
Hayes-Davis averaged 15.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals across all competitions this past season. The 6-foot-8 Wisconsin product also put up 47/39/88 shooting splits.
