Jonas Valanciunas confirmed he had a conversation with Nikola Jokic after getting traded to the Denver Nuggets this summer.
“Yeah, we spoke,” Valanciunas told BasketNews on Friday. “Everything went well.”
Before committing to the Nuggets for this upcoming season, there was speculation that Valanciunas could play for Panathinaikos.
“I want to clear the air about my playing situation next season now that Denver has made their decision to keep me. The idea of playing for Panathinaikos, closer to home, was very exciting to me, but that will have to wait.
“I am fully committed to honoring my contract with the Nuggets this season and will give it my all to compete for a championship,” Valanciunas said to BasketNews last month.
Valanciunas will suit up for Lithuania this summer in EuroBasket 2025.
