Tari Eason will become a restricted free agent during the 2026 offseason after he was unable to agree to terms on an extension with the Houston Rockets.
The sides had gaps in their negotiations on multiple fronts with an extension.
Eason, who is represented by Thaddeus Foucher and Chafie Fields, was the 17th overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft.
In 57 games last season, Eason averaged 12.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.7 steals in 24.9 minutes.
Next offseason, the Rockets will also begin to account for a possible extension for Amen Thompson though his deal wouldn’t begin until the 2027-28 season.
