Endicott has been the No. 1 team in New England Baseball Journal’s Division 3 Coaches Poll for the better part of the last two-and-a-half seasons, and it’s making a habit out of making College World Series appearances in late-May.
After hosting their fourth straight NCAA Super Regional and advancing via a best-of-three sweep over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps last weekend, the Gulls of Beverly, Mass., have arrived at the World Series for the third time in as many years.
“The way we competed (against Claremont), I feel is very similar to the way we competed all year. Really, the guys play and they have fun. They don’t make the moment too big,” coach Bryan Haley (Hartford, Conn.) said after an 8-6 Saturday win, clinching the program’s latest berth. “It’s unfathomable, to be honest with you, to even think that we’ve done what we’ve done…and we want to keep (this season’s journey) going for at least another 12 days.”
This time around, they’re looking for more.
