Alonzo Metz, a 5-11 guard from Riviera Prep in Miami, Florida, has committed to Gonzaga as a walk-on. He has Pacific Northwest ties as he used to play for Jesuit in Portland, Oregon. Metz will be joining Davis Fogle and Parker Jefferson in the 2025 recruiting class.
According to MaxPreps, he averaged 3.1 points per game on a 37 percent field goal percentage and 1.3 rebounds per game in 44 appearances during his junior and senior campaigns.
No word yet on which walk-ons from the 2024-25 roster will be returning to Spokane (freshman guard Cade Orness, redshirt freshman guard Joaquim ArauzMoore, redshirt junior forward Noah Haaland). Joe Few has graduated, and Graydon Lemke has entered the transfer portal (heard from Minnesota, Northern Arizona, Montana State, Tarleton State, Central Arkansas, and Elon).
Gonzaga currently has 11 scholarship spots filled (Braeden Smith, Steele Venters, Emmanuel Innocenti, Jalen Warley, Braden Huff, Ismaila Diagne, Davis Fogle, Graham Ike, Parker Jefferson, Adam Miller, Tyon Grant-Foster).
Grant Foster does need an extra year of college eligibility granted to him by the NCAA in order to play. No official confirmation that international prospect Mario Saint-Supery will be joining the Zags.
