It was a busy day for Gonzaga’s coaching staff. First receiving a commit from 2025 three-star power forward/center Parker Jefferson on the final day of his official visit to Spokane. A few hours later, Arizona State Sun Devils redshirt senior Adam Miller commits to Gonzaga.
Miller is the first to come through the transfer portal this recruiting cycle for the Zags. The leftie shooting guard will add support and much-needed depth to the backcourt. He averaged 9.8 points on a career-high 42.9 three-point percentage (hit 57 total three-pointers) for coach Bobby Hurley last season. At 6-3 and 190 pounds, Miller also contributed 2.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.0 steals in 29.8 minutes per game for the Sun Devils.
He previously played with the Illinois Fighting Illini in 2020-21 and then the LSU Tigers in 2022-23 (redshirted in 2021-22 due to an ACL injury). Miller has scored 1,206 total points on a 38.5 field goal percentage throughout his career and this will be his final season of college eligibility. The Peoria, Illinois native is a talented spot-up scoring threat from the perimeter and can run the floor well when trying to score in transition with contact. He’s at his best off the ball from the wing.
With 113 starts in 117 career games played, one has to wonder if his offensive spark and deep shooting prowess would be better suited in the starting lineup or coming off the bench for coach Mark Few. The offseason practices in the backcourt just got a whole lot more interesting on deciding who should fill out the majority of the minutes at the two spot.
Redshirt senior Jalen Warley and junior Emmanuel Innocenti can be more effective on the defensive end. If redshirt junior Steele Venters is 100 percent healthy by the time the season starts, the Zags would have another dead-eye shooter available. It’s a fantastic problem to have heading into the summer.
This moves the 2025-26 roster to 10 scholarships filled of the 15 spots available. Braeden Smith, Steele Venters, Emmanuel Innocenti, Jalen Warley, Davis Fogle, Braden Huff, Ismaila Diagne, Graham Ike, Parker Jefferson, and now Adam Miller. This looks to be a Top 20 group with more additions to be made in the near future.
