Redshirt junior forward Braden Huff wins the first West Coast Conference Player of the Week award of his career. He scored 44 total points on 21-for-28 field goals to go along with nine rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block against the Kentucky Wildcats in Nashville, Tennessee, and North Florida Ospereys in Spokane, Washington.
That included a season-high 24 points last night versus North Florida, just three points shy of surpassing his career-high. Huff used that patented footwork of his and soft, gentle touch around the rim to great success.
Gonzaga has now come away with the conference player of the week award twice this season. Graduate forward Graham Ike won the week of Nov. 17.
If Huff ever decides to switch sports, the Chicago Bears could use his kill-set at the cornerback position.
