Cameron Boozer and the Duke Blue Devils are officially elite.
Jon Scheyer’s team got past Rick Pitino’s St. John’s with an 80-75 win in the Sweet 16 to move on to the Elite Eight, riding a strong 22-point, 10-rebound performance from the star freshman.
The Blue Devils overcame a 10-point deficit in the second half, with Boozer once again emerging as the best player in college basketball this season.
That’s why, following the triumph, the projected top-five pick made the most of the opportunity to throw some shade at the media for constantly going against his program.
Cameron Boozer knows it’s Duke against the world
“You can watch the media. Everyone wants us to lose,” Boozer said, per Travon Miles of ABC. “We go into Siena halftime they’re talking about, ‘I hope Duke gets upset.’ We played TCU, they talking about, ‘that’s a physical team, we gonna get upset.’ Same thing with St. John’s. I think we just did a great job blocking out all the noise, focusing on what’s important.”
