Chicago Sky point guard Courtney Vandersloot underwent an MRI yesterday that revealed a right torn anterior cruciate ligament, or ACL. The injury took place on June 7th against the Indiana Fever as she was driving to the hoop and came down awkwardly. She will, unfortunately, miss the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season.
The Sky look to be in trouble as they have already struggled to start the season off with a 2-5 record. More pressure is put on Hailey Van Lith to take over the lead guard position in her first professional campaign.

The two-time WNBA champion and three-time West Coast Player of the Year recently became Chicago’s all-time leading scorer with now 3,724 points. She passed her wife, Allie Quigley, who played with the Sky from 2013-2022.
Vandersloot has still got it in her 15th professional season, averaging 10.6 points per game on a 43.9 field goal percentage, 5.3 assists per game, 3.1 rebounds per game, and 1.6 steals per game. She’s a trooper and should bounce back stronger than ever next season. She will soon require surgery to repair her ACL.
