At the G League Tip-Off Tournament, Gonzaga legend Drew Timme made an immediate splash with his new team, the South Bay Lakers (the Los Angeles Lakers’ G League affiliate).
Through the first three games of the 2025-26 season, Timme has averaged 30.0 points on 48.4 shooting from the field, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists during a 3-0 stretch with South Bay. If that doesn’t give any indication that he belongs in the NBA instead of the G League, nothing ever will.
Timme has teamed up once again with Anton Watson, this time with the Lakers’ organization. The pair played together in the frontcourt in Spokane from 2019-2023.
