In a thrilling culmination of their historic 2024-25 season, the Florida Gators men’s basketball team is set to be honored at the White House this Wednesday, as announced by a school spokesman via Jon Rothstein on X.

The Gators, who clinched the 2025 NCAA National Championship, will celebrate their remarkable achievement with a prestigious visit to the nation’s capital, marking a significant moment for the program and its fans.

The Gators’ journey to the title was nothing short of spectacular. Under the leadership of head coach Todd Golden, who took the reins in the 2022-2023 season, Florida returned to national prominence with a 65-63 victory over the Houston Cougars in the championship game.

Their path included thrilling wins, such as a 95-69 rout of Norfolk State in the tournament’s opening round, and a hard-fought 79-73 triumph over SEC rival Auburn in the Final Four.

Golden, the youngest coach to win a national title since the NCAA Tournament expanded in 1985, has solidified his reputation as a rising star in college basketball.

For the Gators, the visit is a chance to reflect on their third national championship and fifth SEC tournament title this century, trailing only Kentucky in the conference.

As fans eagerly await Wednesday’s ceremony, the visit underscores the team’s incredible season and sets the stage for future success under Golden’s leadership. The Gators’ story is a testament to resilience, teamwork, and the enduring spirit of college basketball.
