Finishing with a 12-1 non-conference record after a 98-70 win against the Campbell Fighting Camels in the Kennel and a 91-82 victory over the Oregon Ducks in Portland, Oregon, the Gonzaga Bulldogs stay at No. 7 in the Associated Press Poll. The Zags received 1,080 total points.
The Saint Mary’s Gaels, at an overall 11-2 record that includes wins over the Virginia Tech Hokies, Florida Atlantic Owls, and Northern Iowa Panthers, didn’t receive any votes in the AP Poll.
In the NET rankings, coach Mark Few’s group ranks No. 5 amongst all college basketball programs. The Bulldogs are 3-1 in Quad 1 opportunities, 3-0 in Quad 2.
As for KenPom, Gonzaga stands at No. 4 (No. 10-ranked defense, No. 3-ranked offense). In Bart Torvik, the Zags are placed at No. 6. With EvanMiya, Gonzaga is at No. 6. They are still solidly on the No. 2 seed line for the NCAA Tournament.
The Zags start West Coast Conference play against the Pepperdine Waves (5-8) on Sunday, Dec. 28, at the Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu, California. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m. PT on ESPN+.
