The Kentucky Wildcats are starting to gear up for the official practice in a few weeks as Mark Pope and his roster look to make some noise this coming season. Filled with a ton of new faces (and plenty of talent), one player is very familiar to the BBN in center, Jayden Quaintance.
Originally committed to the UK under John Calipari, the talented big man spent last season at Arizona State before heading to Lexington to finally wear the blue and white. Recovering from an ACL injury, though, the big question all offseason has been: when will we see Quaintance actually take the court?
Well, after a Jon Rothstein report last week saying that Quaintance had not been cleared for non-contact practice to this point, the UK Men’s Twitter account put this tweet out there to really stir up the minds of the fanbase.
This is a great sign. Although he is not cleared for contact practice, already getting on court work is a step in the right direction to possibly seeing Quaintance ready for the season opener.
We have long thought that it would be a long shot to see him play minutes for the Cats in November. Perhaps it’s too early to completely write that off.
