Off to its first 3-0 start since 2015, Arizona is slowly beginning to get some national attention as Big 12 Conference play looms. And that first league test will be in prime time.
The UA’s Big 12 opener at No. 12 Iowa State on Sept. 27 will kick off at 4 p.m. PT and air on ESPN.
This will mark the first meeting between Arizona (3-0) and Iowa State (4-0, 1-0 Big 12) since 1968, when the Wildcats won 21-12 in Ames. The UA is 4-1-1 all-time against the Cyclones.
Iowa State is one of five Big 12 schools that Arizona will be playing for the first time in a while, if ever. The conference home opener, on Oct. 4 against Oklahoma State, will mark the first meeting with the Cowboys since 2012.
Arizona has not played on the main ESPN network since last season’s Big 12 opener, which it won 23-10 at Utah. The Wildcats have won four straight night games and five of six.
