Michigan State football is gearing up to play Michigan in the state’s premier rivalry matchup. What might be Jonathan Smith’s last gasp at trying to save his job in East Lansing, the Spartans are going to give it all they have to bring the Paul Bunyan Trophy home.
This game holds major significance to the school, the fan base and almost everyone in the state of Michigan, but no one cares just as much as head basketball coach Tom Izzo. Izzo has been very vocal this week about the fanbase keeping their support of Smith.
On Saturday, Izzo made his way to Spartan Stadium early before the game, sharing his support of the team and urging the fanbase to do their part tonight.
