Wednesday night was a historic performance all around for the No. 10 Iowa State Cyclones in a 132-68 rout over Alcorn State.
A win over the 1-9 Braves from the SWAC would not typically generate a lot of attention, given the mismatch on the court.
However, a 132-point outburst and multiple program records are more than enough to do so and should not go unnoticed, as a team once known for its stout defense, not that long ago, has now scored at least 78 points in all eight of its games.

Not only were the 132 points a school record for the Cyclones (8-0), but they shot 46-of-65 (71%) from the floor and a ridiculous 22-of-30 (73%) from long range. Iowa State eclipsed its previous three-point record with its 19th of the game on this corner trey from forward Milan Momcilovic, which extended the Cyclones’ lead to 117-51 with under six minutes to play.
