Penn State gives update on temporary seats at Beaver Stadium for 2025 season

If you’ve driven by Beaver Stadium (or looked at Blue-White Illustrated’s recent photo gallery showcasing the venue), you know that construction teams are hard at work installing the west side temporary bleachers that will be in place for the 2025 season. And, you also know that, while they appear to be close to done, it’s also not unfair to wonder if they’d definitely be ready by the time Penn State hosts Nevada on Aug. 30 at Beaver Stadium. However, thanks to a Friday update from the athletic department, you can put any of those worrisome thoughts aside.

“Temporary seats are nearing completion and will be ready to go in time for kickoff!” Penn State Athletics wrote in a Twitter post. “Shout out to InProduction for the temporary seating at Beaver Stadium! The nation’s leader in temp seating will complete the install next week & will execute a rigorous inspection & certification program to ensure the seating is safe, secure & spectacular for the Nevada game.

“InProduction is among the nation’s leaders in temporary seating. They are responsible for the temporary seating structures at events like the Waste Management Open in Phoenix, Northwestern’s temporary stadium and the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont.”

Penn State also put out a short video showing where the construction stands. You can see it in the embedded tweet below. And, if you can’t see it for some reason, click here to view it.

The west side bleachers are one of three temporary structures that will be in place for the fall as a multi-year, $700 million renovation project continues. The other two will be in the northeast and southeast decks. Those, in particular, have head coach James Franklin pumped up ahead of his 12th season at the iconic venue.

Top Penn State takeaways from practice seven: A defender who caught my eye, a freshman receiver update, and more

“I think the stadium’s going to look phenomenal,” Franklin said after practice on Thursday night. “Those decks they have in the corners that’s always been empty, they put these temporary stands — not just in the big ends of the big sideline, but those corners. And I’m sitting there looking up like, ‘why didn’t we do that in the past?’ That was wasted space forever. Even the temporary bleachers, I think that’s awesome. I think that’s a huge opportunity for us.

“I think Pat [Kraft] and Vinny [James] have done a phenomenal job of finding; you’re going to see a ton of upgrades this year, and then obviously next year is going to be crazy. There’s been a ton of hard work and really good ideas about how to maximize that stadium and how to make it as loud as possible. It’s always been a great venue. I think it’s only going to get better.”
