Arsenal are heavily backed to defeat Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, but will it be that simple? Look ahead to this Premier League game with our Arsenal vs Crystal Palace prediction and preview.

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace Stats: The Key Insights

Arsenal beat Crystal Palace in 63.6% of pre-match Opta supercomputer simulations.

Palace have lost their last six competitive matches against Arsenal in a row.

The Eagles have already conceded eight goals to Arsenal this season, losing 3-2 in the League Cup before a 5-1 Premier League loss.

Arsenal host Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday hoping to take another step closer to cementing a second-place finish in the Premier League this season.

With the Gunners 13 points behind league leaders Liverpool with only five matches left to play, dreams of a first Premier League title since 2004 will have to be put on hold for another season.

They can delay the inevitable in this match, however, with a draw or win enough to keep Liverpool’s champagne on ice for at least another four days. If Crystal Palace do cause a shock on Wednesday night and defeat Mikel Arteta’s side, though, it will officially confirm the title for Liverpool.

While Arsenal will be keen to secure a second-place finish, leading third-place Nottingham Forest by six points, much of their attention has been diverted to a potential maiden UEFA Champions League crown. Following a superb victory over record European champions Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, the Gunners are now only three games away from UCL glory, and face Paris Saint-Germain over a two-legged semi-final.

Arsenal have hit form at a great time. Heading into this London derby on Wednesday, they are unbeaten in 11 games, winning six of those. The last victory came in a 4-0 thrashing of Ipswich Town on Sunday, with Leandro Trossard grabbing a brace and Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri also finding the net at Portman Road.

Much of Arsenal’s excellent form of late has come down to the return to fitness of Bukayo Saka, but the performances of Martin Ødegaard and Declan Rice haven’t gone unnoticed. Ødegaard is the Gunners’ leading chance creator across April so far (11), while Rice has been involved in four goals (two goals, two assists), including two incredible free-kick strikes in the first leg of their UCL tie against Real Madrid.

Mikel Merino has also been in sensational form following his move further up the pitch to cover for season-ending injuries to both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. Since 15 February, when he scored a brace as a substitute in the 2-0 win at Leicester City, the Spaniard has been the club’s top scorer (6) and been involved in the most goals (10).

Arteta’s men will face a Crystal Palace side who may have one eye on their FA Cup semi-final against Aston Villa at Wembley on Saturday, and they haven’t been in the best form in the Premier League since reaching the semis on 2 April. Palace have won just once in the league since then, while their 0-0 home draw with Bournemouth on Saturday followed two heavy away defeats against Manchester City (5-2) and Newcastle (5-0) in the week before.

The Eagles will hope Jean-Philippe Mateta can rediscover his scoring touch. Since receiving an injury following a horror tackle from Millwall goalkeeper Liam Roberts in the FA Cup fifth round match on 1 March, the French striker has scored just once in six appearances (373 mins). Before that injury, Mateta had started 2025 in fine form, scoring eight goals in nine competitive matches for the Eagles after 1 January.

Palace will be without American defender Chris Richards for this game through suspension following his red card in the draw against Bournemouth at the weekend.

Arsenal will be missing Gabriel Magalhães for the rest of 2024-25 following his injury earlier this month, with Jakub Kiwior continuing in central defence alongside the influential Willian Saliba. Riccardo Calafiori is thought to be nearing a return for the north London side, but this match is likely to come too early for the Italian.

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace Head-to-Head

Arsenal have won their last five Premier League games against Crystal Palace by an aggregate score of 17-2. Including a 3-2 League Cup win at the Emirates already this season, Arsenal have won six competitive games against Palace in a row.

Crystal Palace have already conceded eight goals to Arsenal this season, losing 3-2 in the League Cup before a 5-1 Premier League loss at Selhurst Park on 21 December 2024. Gabriel Jesus scored five goals across those two matches but will be missing this game through injury.

Palace will hope to continue their decent record in London derbies this season, however. They have won three Premier League London derbies this season – 2-0 away at Fulham, 2-0 away at West Ham and 1-0 at home to Tottenham Hotspur. They last won more in a single top-flight campaign in 1990-91 (5).

They’ll have to be aware of Martinelli if they are to add another London derby win. The Brazilian has scored five goals in his last five Premier League games against Palace, while his six goals against the Eagles overall is his most against any opponent.

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace Prediction

Arsenal are predicted to defeat Crystal Palace in this match on Wednesday night. The Gunners prevailed in 63.6% of the pre-match Opta supercomputer simulations.

Palace caused a shock at the Emirates Stadium in 16.2% of the 10,000 sims, while the two teams drew 20.2% of the time.
