Bill Belichick hasn’t even coached a real snap yet for North Carolina, but he’s already working on building something long-term for the Tar Heels.
He’s building for the future via the 2026 recruiting class, his first as North Carolina’s head coach, and he just landed two big commitments for that effort.
One of those was a re-commitment from four-star EDGE Zavion Griffin-Haynes, who had originally committed to UNC and former head coach Mack Brown but opened up his recruitment due to the coaching change. He evaluated things, and with Belichick now leading the way, the Tar Heels have come back to the forefront of his mind.
Griffin-Haynes is a four-star recruit, ranked as the No. 24 EDGE in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite. His brother, three-star linebacker Jayden Griffin-Haynes, also committed to the Tar Heels.
