North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick was back on the book tour circuit this week to continue promoting his new book. But in a recent interview, he finally opened up a bit more about his relationship with his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.
Appearing on Good Morning America, Belichick had one word to describe his relationship with Hudson: “Terrific.” He said that Hudson has been helpful to him with various business things that don’t relate to the North Carolina football team and that allows him to focus on football more.
“She’s been terrific through the whole process, and she’s been really helpful to me,” Belichick said. “She does the business things that don’t relate to North Carolina that come up in my life, so I can concentrate football and that’s really what I want to do.”
Belichick added that he even acknowledges her assistance in the new book itself. He said that she helped keep a balance between the technical part of football and making it more accessible.
“I acknowledge her in the book, she was very helpful on that with the tribute pages and also giving a perspective of the book from kind of the business side,” Belichick said. “Sometimes I get a little football technical, and so she did a good job of keeping that balance there.”

Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan attempted to get a little bit more out of Belichick by asking him what Hudson means to him. Belichick balked at first but made it clear that Hudson makes him happy.
“We have a personal relationship,” Belichick said. “You know I’m not talking about personal relationships, Michael, you know that.”
“Are you happy?” Strahan asked.
“Yeah,” Belichick said.

Hudson has come under fire in recent weeks due to an awkward moment that took place during an interview with CBS. She interrupted various questions being asked to Belichick, prompting some to wonder what kind of role she has in the coach’s life.
Then there was last week’s report from Pablo Torre alleging that North Carolina banned her from the facilities. This claim was later refuted by the university itself.
It’s a very interesting relationship that the two have, to say the least.
