Football fans are still months away from seeing Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt back in action, but he won over fans this weekend with his generosity.
Leavitt had a sensational 2024 season at Arizona State, completing 61.7 percent of his passes for 2,885 yards with 24 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also had 443 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. His consistency is why the Sun Devils won the Big 12 Championship and clinched a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Expectations will be sky-high for Leavitt’s second season at Arizona State, make no mistake about it. That being said, he’s equipped to handle it.
On Saturday afternoon, Leavitt showed his true character by donating $15,000 to the Pat Tillman Foundation.
Tillman, a former Arizona State player, enlisted in the United States Army Special Operations in 2002. He was tragically killed by friendly fire in April 2004.

As you’d expect, college football fans praised Leavitt for donating to the Pat Tillman Foundation.
Leavitt said he’s more than happy to give back to his community. He also added that gestures like this make him “feel like a better person.”
“Amazing. Great man. Great program,” one fan commented.
“Big ups to this man for doing this,” another fan wrote on X.
“This is leadership,” a social media user added.
“ASU couldn’t have gotten a better man or football player,” a fourth fan said.
The Pat Tillman Foundation was created in 2004. Its mission is to “unite and empower remarkable military service members, veterans and spouses as the next generation of public and private sector leaders committed to service beyond self.”
Maybe this donation from Leavitt will inspire others to help out the Tillman family’s cause.
