The LSU Tigers have moved on from Brian Kelly. They now have to fill one of the most coveted head-coaching jobs in college football, but also one of the most pressure-packed.
Though LSU made the move, the onus is now on the Tigers to find the right replacement. For all his faults, Kelly was 34-14 overall in Baton Rouge. Interestingly enough, college football analyst and former Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart believes that the Tigers should reunite with an old friend.
Immediately, antennas should go up when a reunion is mentioned. Remember, Nick Saban became a living legend with the Alabama Crimson Tide, but he won his first national championship as the head coach at LSU.
While Leinart’s choice for LSU’s next coach is a former national champion, it’s not Saban he has in mind. It is worth noting, though, that his big, Ed Orgeron, also won a national title at LSU.
