Recruitment is heating up for class of 2026 four-star defensive lineman Kendall Guervil after a visit to the Texas Longhorns.
Guervil plays for Fort Myers (Florida) High School. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound defender is rated as the No. 8 defensive lineman, the No. 9 player in the state and the No. 75 overall recruit in his class, per 247Sports rankings.
The 2024 season was an extremely productive one for Guervil, who posted career highs in total tackles (88) and tackles for loss (12) while adding two forced fumbles in 11 games as a junior.
Guervil has amassed 165 total tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks through three high school seasons, according to Max Preps.
Guervil holds 28 scholarship offers entering his senior season and is garnering serious interest from some of the top programs in college football. USC, LSU, Texas and Tennessee all offered the talented defensive lineman this year.
Head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns recently hosted Guervil on his first trip to Austin. And the unofficial visit appears to have made a significant impression, as Texas now leads in Guervil’s recruitment, he revealed to On3’s Chad Simmons on Sunday.
“Texas is definitely No. 1 for me now,” Guervil said via On3. “It was my first time there and it was amazing. I had a great time. Austin is full of resources and things that I would need and it would be a great place to be and live, especially when the school is 10 minutes away from the city. The visit lived up to my expectations.”
The Longhorns are battling with some major powers close to Guervil’s hometown. He is also considering Florida, Florida State and Georgia with official visits locked into his top contenders.
Guervil is slated to officially visit the Bulldogs and Seminoles on May 30 before taking officials to the Gators (June 13) and Texas (June 20).
