Michigan football recruiting is picking up as the 2027 class continues to whittle down its options in advance of spring and early summer visits. And Kyle Whittingham has already put on his recruiting hat and is attracting some top options across the country.
One of the Wolverines’ top targets in 2027 has been Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel four-star wide receiver Quentin Burrell, who has long had an affinity for the maize and blue. Ranked the No. 50 player in the country by the 247Sports Composite, regardless of position, he would be a big get, on par with Andrew Marsh and the transfer in of Jaime Ffrench for the Michigan offense.

On Friday, Burrell officially included the Wolverines in his top 10, along with LSU, Notre Dame, Indiana, Oklahoma, Missouri, Miami, Nebraska, and Arizona State.
Per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Notre Dame is a heavy favorite, but there has long been a lot of smoke between Michigan and Burrell.
Burrell is listed at 6-foot-3, 175 pounds and is the No. 9 wide receiver in the 2027 class and the second-best player in the state of Illinois per the 247Sports Composite.
