The Oklahoma Sooners are on an absolute tear during their “Future Freaks” junior day weekend in Norman. They’ve picked up four commitments in the 2027 recruiting class and look like they have a leg up in the recruitment of the No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2028 recruiting class.
Steve Wiltfong, the vice president of recruiting and transfer portal for Rivals, predicted the Oklahoma Sooners to earn a commitment from 2028 four-star defensive lineman Kellan Hall. Hall, who hails from Louisville, Kentucky, is the No. 5 overall player in the cycle.

Hall holds 17 Power Four offers from schools like Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Notre Dame, Michigan, Vanderbilt, Ohio State, and Tennessee.
The Oklahoma Sooners have done a nice job in their defensive line development under Brent Venables, Todd Bates, and Miguel Chavis. Defensive tackle Gracen Halton and defensive end R Mason Thomas have a shot to be selected in the top two rounds of the 2026 NFL draft in April.
Hall’s a great athlete with a fantastic first step. He displays good power on his rushes, and his length gives opposing offensive tackles fits. He has the size and frame to play defensive end in three and four-man fronts. Hall also played right tackle in high school and shows strong awareness in his pass-protection responsibilities.
