Urban Meyer appears to have his concerns when it comes to Deion Sanders’ third season in Boulder.
Heading into 2025, BetMGM has Colorado’s over/under set at 6.5 wins. But the Hall of Fame coach thinks the Buffs are going to have a hard time approaching last year’s success without Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders in the fold.
Taking a look at CU’s schedule, here’s how Meyer saw things shaking out on “The Triple Option” podcast:
8/29 vs. Georgia Tech – .59/6 vs. Delaware – W9/12 @ Houston – W9/20 vs. Wyoming – W9/27 vs. BYU – .510/4 @ TCU – L10/11 vs. Iowa State – L10/25 @ Utah – L11/1 vs. Arizona – W11/8 @ West Virginia – L11/22 vs. Arizona State – L11/29 @ Kansas State – L
Overall record: 5-6

In Urban’s mind the Buffaloes are going to have to get out to a fast start if they want any chance of surviving a loaded back half of the schedule. It’s certainly a task that Meyer doesn’t envy after last coaching in college football in 2018.
On a recent episode of “The Triple Option,” Meyer revealed that a program had reached out to him about a general manager job. And after hearing the job description he couldn’t have been more reaffirmed in his decision to remain retired.
“I had a school come see me this year and ask if I wanted to be the GM, and a couple other phone calls,” Meyer said. “And you start to think, ‘OK, they actually came to see me,’ so I said, ‘Yeah, I’ll meet and I’ll sit down with you guys.'”

“I said, ‘OK, what is the job description?’ They said, ‘Well, basically you meet with all the agents of the 17- and 18-year-olds, and I thought, ‘I’d rather step on a rusty nail and pull it out myself,'” the three-time national champion quipped. “I mean, what in the world…”
Deion Sanders certainly has his work cut out for him this fall. But you never know what players might step up going into any given CFB season.
