Dwindling down a list of the top players in eight-player in Iowa high school football can be difficult, as the classification produces incredible numbers from around the state.

But we have done our best to put together a list of those that have done more than others during this past regular season. And now we need you to cast your vote for the best of the best.
This award will be for the regular season only, separating those that helped their respective teams advance to the playoffs and those that did not.

Here are the nominees for the eight-player Iowa high school football player of the year in the regular season:

Teagan Hanson, GTRA: The leading passer in the class, Hanson threw for 2,201 yards and 33 touchdowns, hitting on 63 percent of his passes. He also has almost 300 yards on the ground and five more scores.
Keagan Lee, Easton Valley: Lee had an incredible 32 touchdowns with 1,915 yards, completing 72 percent. He ran for 898 yards and 16 more TDs.
Brady Boulton, Montezuma: Boulton, a top athlete in the state, threw for 1,408 yards and 28 TDs. He also ran for almost 300 yards and seven more touchdowns.
Callan Messerich, Easton Valley: Messerich became the career yardage leader, recording 67 receptions for 1,133 yards and 18 TDs. On defense, he has six interceptions and a pair of touchdowns.\
Jax Steger, Edgewood-Colesburg: A sophomore, Steger threw for 1,329 yards and 23 TDs, running for 860 and 14 more scores.
Tate Foertsch, Bishop Garrigan: A three-year starter with a state title on his resume, Foertsch has 20 TD passes and no interceptions, throwing for 948 yards on just 50 completions. He has 593 yards on the ground and 10 more scores, picking off seven passes and scoring two pick-6s.
Jamison Ewing, Southeast Warren: Ewing ran for 1,828 yards and scored 29 TDs on the ground, completing 49 of 78 for 863 with nine more scores and no interceptions.
Nathan Moon, Clarksville: Moon has found the end zone 30 times on the ground, rushing for 1,710 yards.
Nolan Kriegel, Iowa Valley: Kriegel ran for 1,407 yards and 33 touchdowns on 121 carries, throwing for another 615 with 10 scores and no interceptions.
Landon Blum, Woodbine: An elite prospect, Blum dominated, catching 33 passes for 649 yards with 16 touchdowns.
Tristen Burkhart, Boyer Valley: The junior racked up 10 sacks and 18 tackles for loss among his 44.5 tackles.
