Wisconsin signs QB Ryan Hopkins in 2026 class

The Wisconsin Badgers have signed three-star quarterback Ryan Hopkins in their 2026 class, they announced on Wednesday.

Hopkins, a 6’3, 195-pound quarterback, committed to Wisconsin back in April. The Badgers decided to go all-in on the California native, canceling visits with other signal-callers and electing to take only one in the class.

A dual-threat quarterback, Hopkins played his senior season at national powerhouse Mater Dei, and naturally still had interest from other schools. Still, this recruitment played out well for the Badgers, as Hopkins remained committed to Wisconsin with steady communication from the staff.

Now, he’s signed to the Badgers, being the lone quarterback in the class after Wisconsin also signed one quarterback last year: Carter Smith.

With Hopkins signed, Wisconsin is waiting on just one recruit, and potentially the most important of them all: four-star running back Amari Latimer. Latimer is the lone blue-chip recruit in the class after four-star wide receiver Jayden Petit decommitted from the program last week.

It has been a hectic recruitment and Fall for Latimer, who has gotten consistent interest across the nation, but there is one main school pushing on Wednesday ahead of his signing: West Virginia. We’ll see what happens there, but for now, the Badgers have 12 players signed in their 2026 class.

Hopkins joins defensive lineman Arthur Scott, cornerback Carsen Eloms, running back Qwantavius Wiggins, wide receiver Keeyshawn Tabuteau, offensive lineman Brady Bekkenhuis, wide receiver Zion Legree, defensive lineman Djidjou Bah, linebacker Ben Wenzel, edge Yahya Gaad, cornerback Donovan Dunmore, and tight end Jack Sievers in the class.
