The Arizona State football program announced its new plan, which consists of an indoor tailgating experience, with a goal of creating their version of the “16th Hole of Waste Management,” per Barstool Sports.
“We want to get it fundraised here in the next five months,” Head Coach Kenny Dillingham said in a press conference, via Jakob Brooks.
Dillingham said the goal is for it to reach completion in two years and to have it located near the football stadium.
“We want to use that indoor facility for tailgating in the future, so we have an indoor tailgating location for fans to come and make it an awesome tailgate experience,” he said.
The location will benefit fans, as they can tailgate inside, despite the hot temperatures reached in Tempe, Arizona. It will also be a short walk for fans to enter the stadium on game days.
Dillingham said that with the addition being near the stadium, it will be an advantage for the team as well.
“It’s good for us. It’ll be good for our football team,” he said. “It’s over by our facility, so we don’t have to travel to be more efficient with our time.”
ASU is coming off a historic season in 2024, as the Sun Devils won the Big 12 title in their first season competing in the conference. The team reached the No. 4 overall seed and made it to the College Football Playoff.
Dillingham and company will kick off the 2025 season at home against Northern Arizona on Aug. 30.
