The last two years have been a lot of fun for the Colorado Buffalo football teams. While they’ve enjoyed only minimal success, they’ve been regularly featured in primetime and even added a Heisman Trophy to their trophy cabinet thanks to Travis Hunter.
But now that Hunter and many other players who made the last two years special are gone, how do fans feel about the Buffaloes heading into 2025?
The answer seems obvious based on the ticket sales.
Colorado has reportedly sold out of football season tickets for the 2025 campaign. This marks the third straight year of a sellout, with 2023 ending a 27-year run without a season ticket sellout.

There’s plenty of reason for optimism heading into next season even if they aren’t projected to be the top dogs in the Big 12 Conference.
Colorado recruited highly-touted quarterback Julian Sayin to be their quarterback of the future while the highly-productive Kaidon Salter will take his talents from Liberty University to Boulder and will likely serve as the bridge quarterback while Sayin develops.
But without a question the biggest reason for optimism if the continued presence of head coach Deion Sanders.
While he may be only 13-12 with the Buffaloes, he led the team to a top-25 finish last year with what was really only two (two-and-a-half if you want to count Hunter’s two-way ability) NFL-worthy stars on the team.

The Big 12 is going to be a tough nut to crack in 2025 and beyond though. Three teams finished the year with 11 wins, while seven were bowl eligible and conference champion Arizona State reached the College Football Playoff.
That said, the conference doesn’t seem to have an obvious favorite, let alone a national title contender that’s guaranteed to give Colorado fits.
If Sanders can get the team off to a hot start, there’s every reason to believe they can contend for the Big 12.
