The Florida State Seminoles are working to expand their 2027 recruiting class, which currently has five members. One position they have not addressed yet is running back, where they are going after some of the top recruits in the country.
While new running backs coach Kam Martin has not landed a commit, he has them in the mix for several top targets, and that could be changing soon. Steve Wiltfong, On3’s vice president of recruiting and transfer portal, has projected them to land four-star running back Ty Keys, who is from Poplarville, Mississippi.

Keys visited FSU on Monday, getting the chance to see them during a spring practice. It was his second visit this year after he attended a Junior Day on Jan. 17, which came just a week after they extended him a scholarship offer.
It is the only prediction about where Keys will commit, giving them a 91.8% to land him, according to the Rivals recruiting prediction machine. While they are now the favorites, they will have plenty of competetion for Keys, who is also considering the Miami Hurricanes and Ole Miss Rebels. He is set to officially visit all three contenders, with FSU set to host him on June 12 for his final visit.
Keys is ranked as the No. 178 overall player and No. 9 running back in the Rivals industry ranking. He is also the No. 7 player from Mississippi. He would become their second-highest-ranked commit if they can reel him in, only behind safety Mekhi Williams.
He is coming off an excellent junior season at Poplarville High School, where he rushed for 3,285 yards and 45 touchdowns, averaging 10.9 yards per carry and averaging 252.2 yards per game.
