The Iowa Hawkeyes may be just more than 48 hours removed from a ReliaQuest Bowl victory over Vanderbilt, but the page has already quickly been flipped to the 2026 season, with work on rebuilding the roster underway.
The transfer portal has officially opened, and players across the country are on the move seeking new homes. Iowa is already looking to bolster its offensive weaponry with a quick offer to a talented wide receiver.

The Hawkeyes have extended an offer to Tony Diaz, a wide receiver who spent last season, his freshman year, with the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros. After putting up big numbers in just one season, the Texas native is entering the portal looking to make a jump up.
Tony Diaz played just one year for UTRGV, but was incredibly dependable as a pass catcher for them. During the 2025 season, he reeled in 67 receptions for 881 yards and 11 touchdowns. He averaged 13.1 yards per reception.
Coming out of San Marcos High School in San Marcos, Texas, Diaz was an unranked recruit who enrolled at UTRGV in June of 2024. Per 247Sports, he is regarded as a three-star transfer portal recruit and ranked as the No. 101 wide receiver prospect available via the portal.

His other offers since entering the transfer portal include Georgia Southern, Cincinnati, Houston, Oklahoma State, Baylor, and Illinois.
