Florida football will host the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Week 8. The details for that game inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium were announced on Monday afternoon, which include the kickoff time and broadcast details.
The opening salvo between the Gators and Bulldogs is slated for 4:15 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 18, and the game will be broadcast on the SEC Network. It will be the third afternoon game on a schedule that has otherwise featured four night affairs for the Orange and Blue so far.
The two Southeastern Conference schools have faced off on the collegiate gridiron a total of 56 times dating back to their first meeting in 1923. Florida has held the historic edge on their longtime rivals, amassing 35 victories against 19 losses and a pair of ties — including a 19-8-1 record at home.
The Gators have also prevailed in five of the last seven meetings, including a 45-28 triumph in Starkville last fall. MSU’s last win in the series came in Gainesville back in 2010 by a final score of 10-7, in what would be Urban Meyer’s final year in the Swamp.
