Lane Kiffin said the report that Ole Miss has given him an ultimatum to decide his coaching future is “absolutely not true.”
“There’s been no ultimatum or anything like that at all, I don’t know where that came from,” Kiffin said on “The Pat McAfee Show” in an interview that aired Tuesday.
The Athletic reported Monday that Ole Miss gave it’s sixth-year coach a deadline of the Nov. 28 Egg Bowl against Mississippi State to notify the school about what he will do next. Kiffin is considered a candidate for open jobs at both Florida and LSU.

The source confirmed that LSU sent a private plane for Kiffin’s family to visit Baton Rouge on Monday, and the Kiffins took a similar trip to Gainesville the day before. Lane was not on either trip. The Advocate and On3 first reported those visits.
“People have asked me, ‘Are you focused on other places?’ No, I’m focused on winning,” Kiffin said Tuesday.
The Rebels’ are coming off a 34-24 win over Florida on Saturday, improving Ole Miss’ record to 10-1, its fourth season in five years with 10-plus wins. Ole Miss moved up one spot to No. 5 in Monday’s AP Top 25, the school’s highest ranking since 2015.
