Prayers are pouring in for longtime college football coach Mark Richt on Sunday night.
Richt, 65, served as the head coach of Georgia from 2001-15 and Miami from 2016-18. He won two SEC championships and one ACC Coastal Division championship. Richt, born in Omaha, Nebraska, is a two-time SEC Coach of the Year and a one-time ACC Coach of the Year.
He was named the Walter Camp National Coach of the Year in 2017, after leading Miami to a 10-3 season and Orange Bowl appearance.
But this weekend, Richt and his family experienced a difficult loss. Prayers are now pouring in for his family.
Mark Richt announced that his father passed away.
“My father,Lou Richt, truly had the“Best day of his life“ as he passed on to glory yesterday. Proverbs 20:7 describes him best “ a righteous man who walks in his integrity how blessed are his sons after him.” Thank you dad for blessing your children,” he announced.
